About

The Department of philosophy is one of the first few departments of Bangabasi College. At the time of its inception in the college it used to offer only the intermediate and general course. In the year 1944, the Honours Course in Philosophy initiated and the department started functioning in a full-fledged manner. It was under the able leadership, initiative and unrelenting efforts of erudite professors & philosophers that the Department blossomed into a center of excellence and played a key role in shaping the career of many well-established students who have left an indelible mark not only in the sphere of academics but also in the field of administration and other professional fields. In consequence the department has a nice strength of alumni who are teaching in schools and colleges
